PAYPAL allows us to accept on-line payments from all over the world in a simple and secure manner. Please consider using their service to send us your payment. To use PAYPAL, you must first create an account with them, but this is relatively painless and they actually send you a small amount of money!

Small businesses and Credit Cards

I am going to start this out with the statement that:
We don't want your credit card number, we want your money!
While they are the best way of purchasing merchandise (you have a record of your purchase, are able to make purchases overseas, and have some protection against fraud), small businesses find that processing credit cards is often painful. First, you need to your credit card information to us. Then we need to contact the bank and get a separate approval for each order. Since we are a small business, the bank takes a larger chunk out of each transaction than they would if we were a major retailer. Also, we are restricted in the credit cards we can accept. Finally, we need to keep the whole process secure! To keep on-line transactions secure, we would need to purchase a business digital certificate (not cheap), install encryption, and we are still legally liable if we don't do everything right. All we really want to do is accept your payment and send you our game. This is why we decided to not process credit cards directly through the website but to set up our PO Box and process them off-line. However, while this is safer, it is inconvenient for you and still a hassle for us.

What is PAYPAL and how does it work

PAYPAL acts as a clearing-house dedicated to accepting and distributing on-line payments. They allow any web user to send a payment to ANY email address (to send a payment to us, use paypal@fireandfury.com ). PAYPAL handles the encryption, provides the security, and deals with the credit card companies. They do not send the credit card information to the recipient, they send the money and an an email confirmation that the payment has been received. Compare this to our opening statement and you see that this is just the kind of service that we need to facilitate on-line purchases.

Why we like PAYPAL

We like PAYPAL orders much more than we like credit card orders.

We know that when we receive their notification, the payment has been accepted and verified. We can ship your order immediately.
They deal with the credit card companies. You can make your credit card payment through PAYPAL.
They allow us to perform on-line ordering without requiring us to set up a secure infrastructure. Since we don't receive your credit card number, we don't need to keep it secure!
Since you can check with PAYPAL to see that your order has been accepted, you needn't send us an email to check if we received your payment.

Why you should like PAYPAL

As a customer, you should like PAYPAL as well.

As a large company dedicated to financial transactions, they have some hefty encryption in place, and are better able to provide strong security.
They insure against fraud
They are able to accept more forms of payment than we are.
You don't need to go through the hassle of sending us your credit card. This will save you the cost of the letter, and the possible uncertainty of whether we have received it. This is especially important now that PAYPAL has gone international.
You know that we will receive the payment immediately and probably send your order out within one or two days. PAYPAL gives you a way of determining if your payment has been accepted, and our account with them is set up to accept orders automatically.
You can use PAYPAL to send payments to other companies and individuals as well. It is one of the methods of payment frequently used in on-line auctions.
